This is an old sailor's story about his pipe and women.
He told me, "Bad men want their women to be like cigarettes: slender, firm, all in a row,
to be selected at will, set aflame, and discarded, only to select another."
Then he said, "Fastidious men want their women to be like a cigar: more expensive,
longer lasting, with a better appearance, and if the brand is good, used until the end."
After that, the old sailor said to me, "The good man wants his women to be like his pipe:
something he becomes attatched to, knocks gently with love, and handles with good
care always." Finally, he said to me, "Remember: a man will give you a cigarette, offer you
a cigar, but he never shares his pipe."
